From Tim Linehan in Montana : “Just a quick note to let you know that we had a blast with Uli and Stephen on the Missouri last week. It was one of the all time great springs and we finished up just in the nick of time before they started to dump water due to all the rain. Also, we’ve got good availability during August. I just got the predicted summer flows from the Corps of Engineers biologist and conditions will be terrific!”

This just in from our friends at Big Ku Lodge:

“Everything is going well here. Jen and I had 11 people over for lunch today at the Big Ku. It was a group of Russians who were very nice. I took a few of them fishing during the day and we all went to the lodge for lunch.

We saw our first 2 bears of the season today out of the living room window. A big male chasing a female, both running across the tundra. The fishing was pretty good. Not a ton of fish yet, but good quality.”

Brian,

After a week or so to reflect on our trip to Tsimane Lodge I wanted to send you an email with a few pictures from our trip and again let you know what a great time my dad and I had. I think these pictures do a great job of summing up our trip and what a perfect time we had.

Thanks again for an amazing trip,

Doug

Reports keep coming in from the Klamath River. Stonefly activity is very strong down there and the guides are lighting ’em up on big dry flies. These photos come to us courtesy of Craig Nielsen, owner of Shasta Trout.

We’ve just heard from our friends up at Royal Wolf Lodge in Alaska and it looks like their fisheries are shaping up nicely for a spectacular season of chasing trophy rainbow trout.

From the lodge: “I went out yesterday with Scott O’Donnell and his client on the Big Ku and the fish he caught were amazingly fat for this time of year. Thats a great sign for some really huge fish to be caught this year. The last fish the client caught looked like a September fish. It was a really big fish. The water is just over 40 degrees and have not seen too much going on on top yet. I have high hopes for some big ones here this season, it is looking good already!”

Yes, those are some awfully big fish!
