The Rio Grande has been having a spectacular fishing season this year. Numbers and size of fish have been impressive from lodges up and down the river.

Until this week the largest fish ever landed at Villa Maria Lodge on the Rio Grande was 32 lbs. Not the case anymore. Earlier this week Villa Maria guide Ale landed this monster…

Measured 40.5″ length and 24.5″ girth.

Weighed in at 33.5 lbs!

Well done Ale!

There are 6 more weeks of fishing this year on the Rio Grande.

We have some unbelievable last-minute special rates to fish the Rio Grande. Give us a call!

We are now into prime winter steelhead season and all of our guides are out on the water working hard to find some fresh fish. Earlier this week most river systems in Oregon were becoming stale and lifeless. In the last few days we’ve had a storm system move through and rivers state-wide have surged back to life. If you haven’t reserved your days for winter steelhead fishing we still have some prime openings.

Northern Oregon Coast

Scott O’Donnell and his crew have been on the water consistently for the last 6 weeks with another two months to go. These guides have an incredibly loyal following so available dates are few, but they are prime.
Available dates: March 1, 3, 7, 8, April 7-11

The North Umpqua River

Steelhead fishing is just getting started on the North Umpqua. By all accounts we should have a good winter season in March and April. We work with the best guides on the North Umpqua so give us a call with days you have available and we’ll match you up with an available guide.

The Clackamas River

Jeff Hickman has been on the Clackamas River daily this winter. Jeff’s deep knowledge of this fishery, combined with the river’s proximity to Portland have made this a highly sought-after program.
Available dates: March 25, 28-31, April 11-13, 19, 25-27, May 18, 23-26

The Applegate River

Our guides from Confluence Outfitters will start fishing the Applegate and upper Rogue Rivers in the next week. Although the Rogue will continue to fish well through April, March is primetime on the Applegate.
Available dates: March 1-3, 8-11, 16-20, 27-31

Our good friend Dan Kahn is fishing with Jeff Hickman on the Clackamas River this week. Although fishing hasn’t been red hot, they have been having fun and finding a few fish. Jeff sent us a picture of this beauty last night…

Congratulations Dan and Jeff!

We’ve just heard of a discounted week at Mangrove Cay Club on Andros Island, Bahamas.

Dates: March 19-26

Rate: $3,600 / person for a 7 night/6 day package (regularly $4,600)

Mangrove Cay Club is one of the few destinations that brings all the crucial elements together – location, management, amenities, guides, equipment, cuisine and spectacular flats fishing. Headed by veteran lodge manager Liz Bain, Mangrove Cay has set the bar remarkably high for Bahamian bonefishing destinations. With characteristically short runs to some of the most famous trophy bonefish flats in the world, it is easy to make the case that this is the Bahamas’ premier flats fishing lodge.

Latest Issue of FLOW

Over the past 12 years we have generated massive libraries of photos and have numerous stories, thoughts and digressions that have not leant themselves to our traditional media. As the name implies FLOW will be fluid in nature, both in terms of its content and its publication schedule. It is not a financial enterprise so there won’t be any ads and the text won’t end in a pitch but it will have some of our best images and hopefully some insight into how we see life, fishing, travel, and the greater world we live in.
